I have been doing the day job thing, teaching art. Somedays its really rewarding and then their are the days you run home screaming. When I was younger I had this illusion or dillusion that art could really change individuals. After working in the K-12 system I have found that is not always the case. It's amazing how people truly fear art. Being an art teacher can be a lonely profession cause your pretty much looked at as the "oddball" teacher. however, the good thing is you can get away with a lot more and sometimes push your agenda through cause no one really cares what you do and no one understands what you do.
Alas, enough about work. I think about it too much of the time. With that in mind i am starting to get back to my own art making. One endeavor I am currently pursuing is the return of my creation "Oily The Clown". I'd say Oily is definitely the more darker and mean spirited sided of Harlan Lovestone, only I have manifested it into cheesy comedy. I've always had a wierd fascination with clowns. They can be so creepy , yet so cool and there in lies the dicotomy. So if your feeling froggy for some nonsense check out my latest Oily short on Youtube...
