YOU COMPLETE ME FACEBOOK

When I first started using Facebook, I loved it! I used to love Myspace too, until it became so commercial and annoying. Don't even get me started on Twitter! I do have a Twitter page somewhere, but I find it completely useless. I think Twitter was really something started for young Hollywood hipsters to text their fans asinine messages, that only dire fans could possibly appreciate. Twitter doesn't translate well to the real world unless your using it as a device to meet up at the club yo, so then again why not text someone or call them?

Anyway, back to Facebook. I've discovered Facebook is intrusive in the way that I find myself posting things about myself sometimes that reveal more of who I am than I ever did on Myspace. I regard Myspace as almost a professional networking tool with all the pages for bands and actors, etc. Facebook is a little more intimate. While it may seem like a good idea to look up Sally and Joe from elementary school and catch up on old times, it can be a very very bad idea. Unlike a class reunion which last a few hours, your now stuck with people you may not really like or vice versa on your friends list for all eternity.

How do you say, "Sorry it isn't working out, lets not be facebookies anymore" without offending someone. Well, I suppose I like to look on the bright side and hope when I add someone, even if we aren't very close , we will become closer friends. Even if I don't see eye to eye with someone we have things in common that still bind us as friends. We can still learn from one another. Nevertheless, I think Facebook works best immediately with really close friends and relatives. Facebook works best with people who love you no matter what, the people who forgive you when you have a brain fart, or regardless of your political incorrectness, or when you go on Facebook at 3 am drunk and type a bunch of jibbery goo. Facebook shows you who your true friends are.
