MY MAD SCIENTIST IS CALLING

You know those old movies where you had an old crazy  scientist obsessed with  conducting  an experiment? I'm starting to feel like that way. It's a good thing. After being away from the art game a while ( and it is a game)  I didn't know what to do, but now the path is becoming clearer.  I feel like I'm ready  to  throw down some paint with passion and anger  from all the craziness in the world. This is my therapy! I'm  going to be launching a kickstarter page  and another  on US artists very soon  to help fund my  new mad creations. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

STARTING A NEW PORTRAIT

Hi There. It's been quite a while since I've painted a portrait, even though I enjoy them very much.  I have always admired the work of Gerhard Richter because he appeared to flip flop from abstraction to realistic portraits. Likewise, I often find myself going from one style to another.  Whenever I create a portrait I prefer working from a  live model, usually someone I know,  but a good photo can be the next best thing. Below, I have started sketching my friend Sabrina Nelson who is also a wonderful artist. Here ,I have tried to draw in every shape I could see, hoping to go back in with paint and  brush in a similar fashion.  However, I am always open to the fact  this painting  may evolve from my original concept into something all it's own.  I will post a follow up in the near future of Sabrina's portrait  and raid more photos from different friends to create more portraits.
